From April 2020 to October 2024 the SL Book Club Islands were the location for a weekly book presentation with authors from all over the world. At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea, and discuss death. Their objective is 'to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives. A Death Cafe is a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives, or themes. It is a discussion group, not a grief support or counseling session. Facilitated by Cattie Rosca, there are events every 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 2pm SLT at the Death Cafe in Whole Brain Health's Life and Memory Garden.
