Lochmore Earthdawn

Lochmore Earthdawn is several thousand years before this era, in a country called Barsaive which seems to be the location of present-day Ukraine. This world experiences cyclical variations of magic. During the last peak, unspeakable monsters, the Horrors, invaded Earth. People then had to take refuge in fortresses, the Cairns, behind magical protections whose secret was revealed by the mages of the powerful Theran Empire which dominates the South.
