The National Shrine of the Divine Mercy is a ministry of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, located in Stockbridge, MA. This reproduction in Second Life is an outreach ministry allowing residents to experience the shrine, daily readings from Saint Faustina's diary and seasonal choir music from St. Helena's Family Choir.
One of the first examples of detailed texturing dating back to the cusp of 2004, this cathedral proved hugely influential to successive generations of Second Life creators focused on realistic "brick and mortar" builds. Residents still use the prayer candles in memory of loved ones today.

The Amalfi Cathedral in Ville de Coeur is based on the RL Italian church built with Arab-Norman, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Byzantine elements. The Belltower, mosaic, bronze portal, and 62 exterior steps are reproduced. Services are held here (or one of the other Ville de Coeur churches) on Saturdays at 11 am by Magnus Brody. All are welcome. English service is streamed with music.
