Welcome to "Pororoca da Amazonia" an exhibit at SLEA2. It is a virtual twin of the Amazon River's tidal bore wave phenomena that occurs when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned. The word Pororoca comes from the indigenous Tupi word "porórka," meaning "great roar. This celestial alignment causes a very powerful ocean tide that actually pushes the Amazon River flows back upriver. The region represents four main components of the Brazilian Amazon rainforest. This exhibit is open from January to June 2023.
