Registration API (Beta) Request Form

If you are requesting the Registration API to provide a way for people to go from your Web site to a specific location in Second Life, use Direct SLURL. We are only approving Registration API requests which require additional capabilities:

  • limit accounts to your estate
  • limit name selection, or create accounts with a custom name (with special permission from Linden Lab) *
  • Register multiple employees or students from your company or education institution from a single location or as part of your organization's Web site

The Registration API is a beta program. Linden Lab is unable to provide support or technical advice, and the Registration API sample code and documentation require effort to implement successfully. You may have to hire consultants to assist you in making the Registration API work on your server with your web content. Linden Lab provides the sample code and documentation to assist you, but it is not complete at this time, and the sample code usually requires programming effort and troubleshooting to operate properly.

On your registration Web site, you must have registrants accept of at least Linden Lab's Terms of Service, as well as any other Terms of Service you provide. You must make clear that users registering for Second Life account through your Web site are establishing a relationship with Linden Lab, separate from their relationship with you. You are also responsible for meeting appropriate standards for security and protection of the information provided on your registration page. Improper use will result in immediate termination of Registration API capabilities.

Use of the Registration API is at Linden Lab's sole discretion.

* Custom names must be requested separately from the Registration API request.

* Your site URL must be available when you request the Registration API.

You must have a valid Second Life account and be logged in in order to request information on the registration API
