Question: I have LAG!!! How do I stop it?
Answer:
Since no two people refer to the same thing when they refer to "lag" - let's try to identify what's actually going wrong.
Which of the following best describes your "lag"?
The video is jerky or stuttering.
The video pauses for long periods of time.
Everything stops moving, including my avatar.
My character takes forever to start walking.
My character won't stop walking for several seconds.
My chat does not appear for a long time.
I can't walk, I can only rotate in place.
My avatar keeps moving several minutes after I try to stop.
The map turns red, or objects and the terrain disappear.
